The prominent bone (radial styloid) at the side of the wrist above the thumb becomes painful, tender and swollen, and there is pain with wrist movement.

None necessary.
TREATMENT de Quervain's Tenosynovitis:
Anti-inflammatory medications, rest (in a splint if necessary), and steroid injections around radial styloid.
