What is Salmonella Infection?

Salmonella infection is also known as salmonella gastroenteritis, salmonellosis, typhi, typhimurium, enteritidis, choleraesuis. Salmonella is a infection caused by Salmonella bacteria which is a rod-shaped, motile bacteria.It is carried by some animals.and affects a child's intestine which causes fever, vomiting.It is transmitted on water, soil, insects, raw poultry,factory surfaces, kitchen surfaces, animal feces, raw meats,, and raw seafood's.

Causes of Salmonella Infection

• It is caused by eating stored and unhygienic food.

Symptoms of Salmonella Infection

• Abdominal cramping,
• Chills and muscle pains
• Headache
• Minal diarrhea
• Nausea

What are the treatments for Salmonella Infection?

• Give acetaminophen to reduce fever and to relive cramping.
• Increase the intake of liquids to avoid dehydration.
• To reduce abdominal pains avoid milk products, rice, bananas, and apples.
• Antibiotics- It includes ampicillin, gentamicin, trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole, ciprofloxacin. Duration of the treatment depends on individuals illness.
• To control cramps and diarrhea take small doses of morphine.
