What is parainfluenza?
Parainfluenza are the viruses (PIVs) that are responsible for the infections of upper & lower respiratory system of the body. Sendai virus is the first HPIVs (Human Parainfluenza Viruses) describe in 1952 in Japan. Parainfluenza virus is the main cause of crop. Crop is a heterogeneous group of illnesses and larynx, the trachea, and the bronchi are the parts that affected by it. HPIVs are a group of viruses that causes the infections to the respiratory system and it mostly affects to children under the age of 2 years and babies.
Causes of parainfluenza
- The major cause of parainfluenza is the virus infection.
- Contact with infected secretions is another cause of parainfluenza.
Symptoms of parainfluenza
- Barky cough, fever,
irritability,
noisy,vomiting, diarrhea, harsh breathing,
hoarse voice or cry
these are the most common symptoms of parainfluenza.
- It may lead to crop, bronchiolitis, pneumonias, other infections.
- There may be generation of crackles in lungs.
What are the treatments for parainfluenza?
- No any particular treatment is available for viral infection.
- Encourage to take plenty of fluids.
- Try to keep quiet and calm to control breathing effort.
- There is no nay vaccine available to control infections that's why prevention from the infection is the useful treatment.
- Avoid using same things like cups, glasses, and utensils which helps in decrease the spread of virus.
