What is Hyperhidrosis?
Hyperhidrosis is an uncontrollable sweating disorder, in excess to required body temperature, commonly in the palms, feet, face, chest, back, and also trunks, due to over activity of the sympathetic nervous system. It is inheritable.
.Hyperhidrosis can be most commonly seen in every 1% of the population, affecting both men and women equally. It can happen at any age.
Causes of Hyperhidrosis
- Over reactive processing of sympathetic nervous system
- Abnormal brain function or brain tumour
- Drugs
- Respiratory failure
- Stroke
- Chronic anxiety disorder
- Diabetes
- Depression
- Autoimmune disorders
- Menopause
- Increase in air temperature
- Exercise
- Fever
- Spicy food
