What is cervical-cancer?

Cervical-cancer is a cancer which occurs in the cervix which is the lower part of the uterus and uterus is an organ which only women have, in this uterus fetus grows and develops when a women is pregnant. Cervix cancer occurs because of over grow of cell in the cervix. This is a cancer which is common to the women. cervix cancer does not occur suddenly it develops pre-cancerous changes and then it turn in to cancer. It may occur to the women of any age and it may be treat with the proper treatment. There are two types of cervix cancer one is Squamous type and second is Adenocarcinoma.

The first type that is Squamous affects 80% to 90% population and other remaining population are affected by the second type that is Adenocarcinoma. Yearly more than 10000 women's are diagnosed with cervical cancer and 4000womens are die due to this disease in US.

Causes of cervical-cancer

The cause of cervical cancer is unknown. But it may occur because of infection with two types of human papillomavirus (HPV) which is associated with cervical cancer and Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection reduces the immune system's ability to fight infection and lead to the progress of cancer. These both infection may transmitted by the sexual activity and may cause to the cervical cancer.
