Cause of Brain Abscess
Common causes of a brain abscess include injury or wounds on the scalp, an infection that spreads to the brain e.g. from a discharging ear or sinus infection. Also, infection may spread via the blood circulation to the brain, from another infected organ elsewhere in the body. It is wise where possible to prevent the occurrence of a brain abscess. This means that scalp injuries, ear infections, etc, should always be taken seriously and treated properly by a doctor.
