Asthma is caused by such microbic elements which cannot be seen with the eyes, for example, the pollen of a flower.

Some people may get this disease in the bathroom or bedroom where minute microbes prosper, such as dust-mite, dust particles found in blankets, curtains and carpets. It has often been noticed that asthma patients cannot live with hairy pets such as dogs, cats, rabbits, etc, Spores found in mould, and fungi can also cause the problem of asthma.

Some asthma patients are allergic to food items such as milk, eggs, fish, yeast and certain preservatives(such as sulphur-dioxide).

Sometime they get sick simply by smelling such foods or by eating them. There are people who get asthmatic by wet colors, vehicular- exhaust, cigarette smoke and some medicines.

Some elements which stimulate the respiratory system can cause allergic reaction in it. The changes in temperature due to seasonal variations, excessive physical labor, emotional setbacks or too much of laughter can cause asthmatic attacks.
